How to Add Tooltip Page in Power BI
Adding a tooltip page in Power BI allows you to display additional information or context when hovering over data points in your visualizations. This can help provide insights and explanations to your viewers. Here’s how you can add a tooltip page in Power BI.
Step 1: Create a New Page
The first step is to create a new page where you will design your tooltip. Right-click on the “Pages” pane in Power BI Desktop and select “New Page”. This will create a blank page for your tooltip design.
Step 2: Design Your Tooltip
On the newly created page, you can design your tooltip using various visualizations, text boxes, and formatting options. Consider the type of information you want to display and use appropriate visual elements to convey it effectively. You can also add interactions and filters specific to your tooltip page.
Step 3: Set Tooltip Options
Once you have designed your tooltip page, go back to the original page where you want to enable the tooltip. Select the visual or data point for which you want to display the tooltip. In the “Visualizations” pane, navigate to the “Tooltip” section. Here, you can set the tooltip type to be a “Report page” and choose the page you created earlier as the tooltip page.
