Adding Title to Power BI Dashboard
Power BI allows you to add a title to your dashboard using its built-in functionalities. A title provides a clear and concise overview of the information displayed in the dashboard. Here’s how you can add a title to your Power BI dashboard:
Option 1: Adding a Text Box
One way to add a title is by inserting a text box into your dashboard. To do this:
- Open your Power BI dashboard.
- In the top bar, click on the “Insert” tab.
- From the options in the toolbar, select “Text box”.
- Click and drag on the dashboard canvas to create a text box.
- Double-click inside the text box to enter your desired title.
- Customize the font, size, color, alignment, and other formatting options as needed.
Option 2: Using a Blank Image
Another approach is to use a blank image as a placeholder for your title. While the image itself will be empty, you can overlay text on top of it to create a title effect:
- Create a blank image with the desired dimensions using an image editing tool such as Photoshop or Paint.
- Save the image in a supported format such as PNG.
- In Power BI, open your dashboard and click on the “Insert” tab.
- Select “Image” from the toolbar and browse for the blank image you created.
- Resize and position the image as needed on your dashboard.
- Click on the “Text Box” option in the toolbar and type your title text over the blank image.
- Adjust the text formatting to match your desired style.
Remember to save your changes after adding the title to your Power BI dashboard. This way, the title will be visible whenever you open the dashboard or share it with others.
