How to Add Power BI to PowerPoint
To add Power BI visualizations or reports to your PowerPoint presentation, you can follow these steps:
- Open the Power BI service and locate the visualization or report you want to add.
- Click on the “More Options” icon (three dots) located at the top-right corner of the visualization or report.
- Select the “Export” option from the dropdown menu.
- Choose “Export to PowerPoint” from the available export options.
- A dialog box will appear asking you to choose the export format. Select the desired format (e.g., “Presentation (PPTX)”).
- Click on the “Export” button to start the export process.
- Save the exported file to your desired location on your computer.
- Open PowerPoint and open the presentation where you want to add the Power BI visualization or report.
- Go to the slide where you want to add the visualization.
- Click on the “Insert” tab in the PowerPoint ribbon.
- Click on the “Pictures” or “Insert Picture from File” option.
- Navigate to the location where you saved the exported Power BI file.
- Select the file and click on the “Insert” button.
- The Power BI visualization or report will be inserted into your PowerPoint slide.
Note: The exported file contains an image of the Power BI visualization or report, and it’s not interactive.
Example:
Let’s assume you have a Power BI report with multiple visualizations, and you want to add one of them to your PowerPoint presentation.
- Open the Power BI service and locate the report.
- Click on the three dots icon of the desired visualization within the report.
- Select “Export” and then “Export to PowerPoint”.
- Choose the export format and hit “Export”.
- Save the exported file to your computer.
- Open PowerPoint and your presentation.
- Go to the slide where you want to add the Power BI visualization.
- Click on “Insert” > “Pictures” or “Insert Picture from File”.
- Select the exported file you saved earlier and insert it.
Once inserted, the Power BI visualization will become part of your PowerPoint presentation.
Remember to save your PowerPoint presentation after adding the Power BI visualization to make sure the changes are preserved.
