How to Add an Image to Power BI

Adding an image to Power BI is a simple process. You can follow the steps below:

  1. Open Power BI Desktop.
  2. Click on the “Insert” tab in the top menu.
  3. Click on “Image” from the “Images” category. This will open a file explorer.
  4. Select the image file you want to add and click “Open”.

The selected image will now appear in the Power BI canvas. You can resize and reposition the image as needed. Power BI supports various image formats such as JPG, PNG, and GIF.

Example:

Let’s say you have a sales dashboard in Power BI, and you want to add a company logo to the top left corner.

  1. Open Power BI Desktop.
  2. Create or open the sales dashboard where you want to add the company logo.
  3. Click on the “Insert” tab in the top menu.
  4. Click on “Image” from the “Images” category. This will open a file explorer.
  5. Select your company logo file (e.g., “logo.png”) and click “Open”.
  6. Resize and reposition the logo image to the desired location on the canvas.
  7. Save and publish the dashboard

Now, your sales dashboard will have the company logo displayed prominently.

Note: If you’re working with Power BI online, you can also add images by uploading them to a web address and using the image URL instead of a local file.
