How to Add an Image in Power BI
To add an image in Power BI, you can follow these steps:
- Prepare the image file you want to add. Make sure it is in a supported format, such as JPEG, PNG, or GIF.
- In Power BI Desktop, open the report or dashboard where you want to add the image.
- Navigate to the “Insert” tab in the ribbon at the top of the screen.
- Click on the “Image” button under the “Illustrations” section.
- A file explorer window will appear. Locate and select the image file you want to add.
- Click “Open” to insert the image into your report or dashboard.
- By default, the image will be added as a floating element. You can resize and reposition it as needed using the handles that appear around the image.
Here is an example:
In the above example, replace “path/to/your/image.jpg” with the actual file path or URL of your image file. The alt attribute provides alternative text for screen readers or if the image fails to load.
Once you’ve added the image, you can customize its properties by selecting it and using the formatting options available in the visualizations pane.
Remember to save your report or dashboard after adding the image to ensure the changes are preserved. You can then publish the report to Power BI service to share it with others.
