How to Add a Trendline in Power BI
Adding a trendline in Power BI allows you to visualize trends and patterns in your data. Follow the steps below to add a trendline to a chart:
- Open Power BI Desktop and load your data.
- Create a chart by selecting the desired data fields and chart type.
- Click on the chart to select it, and then go to the “Visualizations” pane on the right side of the screen.
- In the “Visualizations” pane, click on the “Analytics” tab.
- Scroll down to find the “Trend line” option, and toggle the switch to “On”.
- Once you enable the trendline, you can customize its appearance by adjusting the settings in the “Analytics” tab.
- You can choose different trendline types such as linear, logarithmic, polynomial, etc.
- You can also format the color, thickness, and transparency of the trendline.
- Additionally, you can enable a forecast line to estimate future data points.
- Once you have configured the trendline settings, you should see the trendline appear on your chart.
