It is a bug that was fixed on November 14, 2017.
Currently, the last Chart.js version is 2.7.1, but this fix is going to be a part of the 2.8 release according to information from GitHub. You might want to wait for the next release in which this issue will be fixed, or try to implement a hot fix by yourself if it is critical for your application.
